the Marriott Laguardia Hotel in New York saw myself being
inducted into Budo International Magazine’s Internatonal
Martial Arts Hall of Fame along with such notable martial
arts illuminaries as Grandmaster Jhoon Rhee, Dr. Richard
Chun & Grandmaster Gary Alexander under the category
of “Living Legend”…….Student,
Sensei Jon Haupt was also in attendance to act as my Uke
during a seminar held before the function. |

My own “World
Head of Family Sokeship Council International martial
arts event held September 2nd – 3rd in Orlando,
Florida saw martial artists from all over the world
attending this grand affair for the 11th year straight!…….Recognized
for their contributions to the art of San-Jitsu were
students: Sensei Heinz Scheidereiter of Germany; Sensei
Phillip Spears of Texas (who just came back from a 2
year stay in Jamaica); Senseis Jimmy Rutherford, Jon
Haupt, Chris Marquez and students Jose Rodriguez, Nathaniel
Hart, Kim Ertle and Morris Darby from the Florida Hombu……During
the festivities, I was also presented with a gift of
a handcrafted sword cane made in the Bahamas from Sensei
Spears……THANK YOU Phillip.
New Student & Wing Chun Sifu, Prasad Wickramasinghe
of Sri Lanka wrote to say that despite the recent devastation
from the Tsunami that hit them, he is ready to begin
learning & teaching San-Jitsu there……Nin-Jutsu
Master Mike Gaudio from Miami, Florida also had some
nice things to say about learning San-Jitsu calling
the techniques “fantastic”…WELCOME
to our worldwide family, gentlemen!
A new reality TV Show called THE ART OF WAR is set to
make its debut soon on Spike TV…….Yours
truly was contacted by good friend, Grandmaster Ron
“The Black Dragon” Van Clief to take part
as one of the instructors for the series……The
only problem is that the reality show is about fighters
who are being trained to compete in a point Karate tournament…..As
my specialty is “combat”, rather reluctantly
I had to decline my friend’s invitation……Be
watching for the show anyway and support it!
Mr. Rob Colasanti, President of the National Association
of Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA), proportedly
the largest professional martial arts business association
in North America, called to set up an interview with
me which will be part of their monthly audio series
for NAPMA Members…….The interview will be
about myself, San-Jitsu and street combat, including
defending against dog attacks (an article I did on this
subject was recently featured in TaeKwonDo Times Magazine).
We will let you know more as the actual date of the
interview is set.
On November 19th I will be attending Grandmaster Gary
Alexander’s International Association of Martial
Artists (IAMA) event in New Jersey.
